Managing Pain and Opioid Scenarios in Community Pharmacies

In Part 2 of the Flip the Pharmacy Team Indiana Podcast, we chat again with Dr. Molly Nichols about Opioid Interventions in the Community Pharmacy Space- this time with a focus on managing pain and medication dosing.

You can listen along with us at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfzdw9Ugu6o

Molly mentions a few different resources in this podcast that we want to be sure you can access easily, including the FtP Coordinating Center's Outpatient Opioid Tapering Algorithm included in the most recent Opioid Progression Change Package.

For calculating MME, Molly recommends use of the “CDC Opioid Guideline” app as well as a MME Calculator to help you calculate a patient’s total daily opioid dose using MMEs.

If you missed Part 1 of our podcast covering how pharmacy teams can identify and ACT on Opioid Use Disorder in Community Pharmacies, be sure to check out the linked post below to listen in!
